Bridal FAQ's

I'm interested in booking you for my wedding. What information do you need from me?

1) Your name

2) Wedding date

3) Getting ready location

If you do not know the location yet, please include the city

4) Total number of people needing makeup

Is there a minimum requirement to book a bridal party?
Yes, a minimum of 5 people (including the bride) is required to book bridal party makeup services.

Do you have a maximum number of makeup applications you can complete?

I can accommodate up to 8–10 makeup applications on my own, but this depends on your wedding day timeline and how much time is available for getting ready. Keep in mind that each person requires a minimum of 45 minutes, with additional time needed for the bride (1+ hour), full-glam looks (1+ hour), individual lashes, and other details.

How does adding a second artist work?

If you have a larger bridal party and need a second artist to ensure everyone is ready on time, there are a few options: you're welcome to secure a second artist on your own, I can provide trusted referrals, or I can coordinate one for you. Please note, a second artist fee will apply.

Keep in mind: If your party is smaller and you still prefer to bring in a second artist, my 5-person minimum (including the bride) still applies. If the total number of applications is split and I end up doing fewer than 5, the bride will be responsible for covering the cost equivalent to 5 services.

For example, if your party includes 7 people and I complete 4 while the second artist completes 3, the minimum booking requirement means the cost of 5 services will still apply to my portion.

Do you have hairstylist recommendations for my bridal party?
Yes! I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside many skilled hairstylists and would be happy to share my favorites with you. Feel free to reach out, and I’ll send over a list of trusted professionals.

Are there any additional fees I should be aware of as the bride?
Yes, depending on the details of your wedding day, additional fees may apply. All appointments will include a travel fee. Other fees may include early morning fee (for start times before 7 AM), a second artist fee (if needed for larger parties), and parking or valet charges if required at your getting ready location. All applicable fees will be clearly outlined in your quote and discussed before booking. There is also a holiday fee for bookings on major holidays. These are all standard fees in the bridal makeup industry.

When do I book a trial?

I recommend scheduling your trial 2–4 months before your wedding day. This allows enough time to finalize your desired look and make any adjustments, while still being close enough to your date to reflect your current skin tone, hair color, and any seasonal changes. Although this is what is recommended, you can schedule your trial at any time.

Can I schedule a trial before booking you for my wedding?
Yes, you're welcome to schedule a trial before officially booking. However, please note that I do not reserve wedding dates without a signed contract and security deposit. Trial appointments are a great way to experience your wedding look beforehand, but because dates often book (especially during peak season) your date will remain available to other inquiries until the booking is confirmed. I highly recommend securing it as soon as you’re ready to move forward.

If we already completed a trial and I decide I want to try something different, can I schedule a second trial?

Absolutely! If you'd like to explore a different look or make changes based on how you felt after the first trial, a second trial can definitely be scheduled. Additional trials are subject to availability and will be billed at the same trial rate. I want you to feel 100% confident and excited about your final look, so we’ll work together until it feels just right.

What do I need to do to be officially booked for my wedding day?
To secure your wedding date, a signed contract and a 20% non-refundable deposit are required. The contract will be emailed to you for review and signature. The deposit can be submitted via Zelle or Venmo. Once both are received, your date will be officially reserved in my calendar.

Why is wedding makeup priced at a premium rate?
I totally get it. A lot of people think wedding vendors inflate their prices for no reason. If I wasn't in the wedding industry, I would probably see the cost of hair and makeup and think it's a lot without fully understanding what goes into the pricing. There are so many factors that influence the pricing of a wedding makeup artist. It goes way beyond the cost of makeup, experience, or level of expertise. For comparison and reference of non-bridal servicesSephora Beauty Services charges $60 to do a full-face & $90 for a more glam look in-store, and MAC Cosmetics Makeup Services charge $90 for a full-face in-store.

Personalized On-site Service

Unlike a salon appointment where clients travel to the location, wedding makeup artists come directly to you. This on-site service adds a level of convenience that reduces stress on your wedding day. The artist brings their entire set-up including professional lighting, chair and folding table if needed, and full kit - which combined can weigh up to 100+ lbs. Travel time, gas, tolls, parking, and the effort of carrying (loading and unloading multiple times) and setting up equipment are all built into the pricing for this personalized experience. An on-site service is a luxury service. Not to mention we are doing this all quickly on a tight timeline.

Time Commitment

Bridal makeup takes several hours for a bride and bridal party. Most artists block out their entire morning or full day for weddings, arriving early and staying flexible in case of timeline shifts. We often do not book other inquiries to make sure you're fully taken care of on your wedding day. Unlike a salon environment with back-to-back appointments, a wedding artist devotes themselves fully to your event, providing a more focused and relaxed experience. This makes each booking more exclusive and high-value.

High-end Makeup and Skincare

Wedding makeup artists invest in high quality luxury and professional grade products that are built to last all day and photograph beautifully. We carry a large variety of products to work well with a variety of skin types and shade ranges. Many self-taught artists do not receive professional discounts (myself included) and have to pay full retail price for these products. The cost of consistently replenishing and updating a professional kit is reflected in the service price. You'd be surprised at the thousands of dollars spent on makeup, lashes, skincare, supplies & equipment during peak season. In addition, the price of each and every product goes up every year.

Experience & Personal Planning/Customization

Bridal makeup is a highly specialized service that requires both technical skill and experience. A wedding makeup artist knows how to create a look that is both beautiful in person, but also perfect for HD cameras, various lighting conditions and long-wear. Artists will spend time before the event to plan the look, offer trial sessions, recommendations and guidance along the way. You're paying for the expertise, attention to detail, and reliability of someone who knows how to handle high-pressure events.

There is also exclusive planning that goes into your date that includes personalized product planning based on your skin tone, texture, and sensitivities; a tailored skincare prep strategy to ensure your skin is balanced, calm, and radiant on the day of; customizing a makeup kit specifically for your needs—including foundation formulas, primers, powders, and lip colors suited to your skin type and desired finish. Even when an artist has a fully-stocked kit, we often times purchase additional products specifically for your wedding if we know it is something that will be perfectly suited for your wedding day look.

Your wedding day takes top priority over any personal commitments—we're fully dedicated to you.

When you reserve a date over a year in advance, you're not just securing services, you’re asking your artist to prioritize your wedding day far ahead of time, often before they’ve had a chance to plan for their own personal milestones or professional opportunities. By committing that early, your artist is setting aside one of a limited number of premium weekend dates during peak wedding season, and in doing so, may miss out on important personal dates, family events and milestones. This premium reflects the value of that commitment, exclusivity, and the flexibility you’re receiving in securing a highly sought-after date well in advance.

This differs from a more affordable artist who may only accept bookings a few months out or fill their calendar last-minute. These artists typically have more flexibility to work around their own schedules and may not be committing to peak dates until much closer to the time, allowing them to avoid the personal and professional sacrifices that come with early bookings. Investing in an experienced artist who books far in advance means you’re paying not only for the service but also for peace of mind, personalized planning, and a professional who is fully committed to your day from the start. In addition, throughout the process you will receive a contract, timeline consultations, vendor coordination and adjustments, ongoing communication, personalized beauty advice and more.

Business Costs

Running a bridal makeup business involves much more behind the scenes than just doing makeup. There are business expenses like insurance, licensing, website hosting, booking systems, marketing, programs/apps, equipment maintenance (we replace our equipment often because of the wear and tear of traveling) and taxes. All of these things factor into the pricing.

I truly love what I do as a bridal artist, and nothing makes me happier than being part of one of the most important days of your life. Being trusted to be a part of such a meaningful and unforgettable day is something I never take for granted. Helping my brides feel their most beautiful is why I do what I do, and it's an honor I hold close with every wedding that I'm a part of.
